About CII iPATE

The Confederation of Indian Industries conducts an Industrial Proficiency Aptitude Test (iPATE) every yea to sort and recruit the best candidates in the field of engineering. This test is conducted to filter candidates that fits into the PAN India level equation of the Indian Corporate Industry.

CII iPATE is an online exam that is conducted to test the technical aptitude of candidates. It is a benchmark test that renders some of the most talented and skilled professionals who are ready to work in the industry. The iPATE test gives a standardized platform for recruiters to find their prospective candidates.

CII iPATE is an aptitude exam that checks the proficiency of the engineering candidates appearing all across India. The test is a standardized set of technical questions that are designed for candidates of all major disciplines of engineering.

The CII iPATE exam is a computer-based multiple-choice question test. A part of the test contains questions that should be answered virtual keypads. These are major numerical questions that involve solutions through mathematical equations. For such questions, CII iPATE organizers provide a virtual calculator on the computer screens which is the ONLY calculator provided to the candidates for calculations.

Candidates are allowed to appear in only one discipline of engineering at a time. Though the candidates may fill more than one form for the iPATE exam, only one of the applications will be considered for the current exams and the rest shall be rejected without a refund of the application fee.

The CII iPATE exam application forms, admission cards as well as the database of the successful candidates are released on the official website by the authorities. The score achieved in the CII iPATE exam is considered for 3 years in the Indian Corporate Industry. Here are the important dates for CII iPATE 2020:

Application Date Deadline:

The application form for CII iPATE 2020 is already available on the official website. The candidates are required to submit the forms latest by the 31^st of MARCH, 2020.

Exam Dates:

The iPATE 2020 is expected to be held on the 4^th, 5^th, 11^th and 12^th of July, 2020.

Admission Cards and Results:

The candidates will be able to download the admission cards from the 15^th of June, 2020. The same will be available online on the official website.

The results (scorecards and certifications) will be available for the candidates on the 1^st of August, 2020. The same will be made available on the official website.

Eligibility for CII iPATE 2020 The CII iPATE 2020 exam has the following eligibility criteria which the candidates must fulfill:

• E/B.Tech course (4 years course after 10+2)
• E/B.Tech course (3 years course after B.Sc./Diploma in Engineering/Technology)
• Arch (5 years course)/Naval Architecture(4 years course)/Planning(4 years course)
• Professional Society Examination is equivalent to B.E/B.Tech/B. Arch recognized by MHRD/UPSC/AICTE
• Candidates who are appearing for the final year exams may also apply

Duration and Pattern of the CII IPATE 2020 Exam

The CII iPATE 2020 exam is of 3 hours where the candidates must report at the allotted examination centers 30 minutes before the scheduled time. Latecomers will not be permitted inside once the exam commences. The candidates can leave the examination hall after the exam has ended.

The exam is a computer-based multiple-choice question pattern exam. These may be True or False, Matching or Numerical questions carrying 1 mark each. For every correct answer, 1 mark shall be credited to the candidate while for every incorrect half mark shall be deducted.

The questions are divided into 3 sections:

Section 1: Questions based on management skills of the candidate

Section 2: Questions based on professional skills of the candidate

Section 3: Questions based on engineering skills (based on the theoretical, practical and functional knowledge of the respective engineering discipline in which the candidate has applied for)
